Experienced, trustworthy, energetic. These are just a few of the ways coworkers describe him. Since 2003 Francesco Del Galdo has committed his entire clinical and research activity to Scleroderma. He graduated in Medicine in 1999 and specialised in Immunology in 2003 in Naples, Italy. He then moved to Philadelphia in The Scleroderma Centre of Thomas Jefferson University for his PhD studies on the early events leading to the pathogenesis of Scleroderma. Following his PhD he served as Research Associate first and later Associate Director of the Scleroderma Centre. In 2009 he moved to the Institute of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Medicine of the University of Leeds to establish the Scleroderma Research program within the National Institute of Health Research Biomedical Research Centre.
